International conference First Kiss

On May 17, 2024, the international conference First Kiss will be held at the Estonian National Museum. The aim is to discuss the directions of human studies in Estonia and Europe and to share best practices in both formal and non-formal education.

Who is invited to participate? Teachers, youth workers, professionals working with young people, parents, as well as young people interested in the topic are welcome to join the conference.

Conference programme

Time of the event: May 17, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM Location: Estonian National Museum (Muuseumi tee 2, Tartu)

The confence will only take place physically.

9:30-10:00 Gathering.

10:00-10:20 Opening of the Conference.

10:20-11:00 Being and growing as a person, Merilin Mandel.

11:00-12:00 Health and sexual education through the eyes of the youth, Katriin Kütt-Oad, Karili Laasik, Silja Piir and Margit Kagadze.

12:00-13:00 Lunch break.

13:00-15:00 Workshops with practical interventions:

1) VR application „Emotions of Love“, by University of Tartu Youth Academy;

2) E-quiz environment and introduction, by University of Tartu Youth Academy;

3) Workshop on orgasm and sexual health, by EAÜS;

4) Role of the internet in contemporary sexual health education, by Maarja Punak;

5) Sexual education “Jeopardy”, by Karili Laasik.

15:15-16:15 Challenges of health and sexual education, as exampled in Malta, Estonia and Check Republic.

16:15-16:30 Ending of the conference.

It must be noted that the conference organisers may change the programme leading up to the day of the conference.

The educational programme “First Kiss” aimed at young people is part of the “Kissing Tartu” project, which is part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 main programme. The project is funded by the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps Agency under the Erasmus+ programme.

NB! Participants can receive a certificate of advanced training from the University of Tartu Research School. The certificate is issued only to those who participated on the spot.
